This is one video of a series of videos that I’m going to shoot detailing every single bid strategy that you can use on Google Ads.

And today we’re going to go into manual CPC.

First, I’m going to show you exactly where you can change your campaign bid strategy to manual CPC right now.

It first at the campaign level, you go over to settings on the left nav and then in the biding section right here.

Let’s say I had this campaign at max clicks.

Say I want to change it from max clicks to manual bid strategy.

They make it actually difficult because it is such an outdated bid strategy.

And at the end of this I’m going to tell you that I don’t recommend this strategy, but if you want to use it, you have to click not recommended section.

Drop down down here to the bottom.

There is a little bit of machine learning going on where Google’s algorithm will help you find more people that are more likely to convert if you leave this box checked, which is enhanced CPC, and you can choose whether you want the system to try to get conversions or people that are going to convert into conversion values.

If it’s an ecom type of a strategy, as I alluded to a few seconds ago, manual CPC is very outdated.

The only reason why you should potentially use this bid strategy is only on your branded campaigns.

So branded ad groups or keywords in a branded campaign.

So you put your brand name and variations and maybe your brand is misspelled frequently.

You put those into an ad group, into one campaign and that campaign you run manual CPC bid strategy and then you can also monitor and make sure your search impression share is at least 80 or 90% and you know you’re capturing the vast majority of your traffic for people looking for your brand on Google. That’s it.
