Using Segments to Track Conversion Actions

Using Segments to Track Conversion Actions

Welcome to Google Ads Quick Hits. I’m Todd Nevins. I’m the founder of CLICKPlacement. And we are a Google Ads agency partner.

Today I’m going to help you use the segment section to look at specifically your conversion actions and also secondary conversion actions to help you make better decisions.

Here is a perfect example. This particular client, we have six campaigns running.

Using Segments to Track Conversion Actions

I’m at the campaign View, and we have 110 conversions in the last 90 days in this for this particular client.

But I want to see what types of conversions those are.

So you simply click on the segment button, then conversions and conversion action.

Track Conversion Actions

This client, we do not want phone calls. We want online forms submissions.

So at the very bottom, you can open it up. And this is the total.

So we are showing that we have 110 form submissions.

We don’t have any calls from Ads or clicks to call because we’re not driving traffic to result in phone calls, just form submissions.

What’s interesting is when you scroll over to the All Conversions column, we are also tracking how many seconds they are on the website and how many pages they viewed.

Using Segments to Track Conversion Actions

This is really important information.

So here are 110 submissions, but of those, 152 people actually clicked the button and 110 submitted it.

That’s a really good ratio.

Over two thirds of the people that actually clicked the button submitted the form.

So that means that we’re driving right traffic at the right time, and they’re resulting in form submissions.

So here as well, we’re looking at how many seconds are on people are on the website and how many page views.

This is telling us that these people are very engaged.

This is telling us that they are really interested in getting a quote.

And then this particular conversion action is the most important.

How many people actually submitted in, and that’s 110.

That’s how you use the segments section and look at your conversion actions to help you make better decisions.

I hope this helped you leave me a like and a comment if so.

And thank you for watching Google Ads Quick Hits.
