Low Budget Google Ads Hack: Get More from Every Dollar

If you’re spending $500 a month on Google Ads and have two campaigns running, this video is for you. I’m Todd Nevins. I am the founder of Click Placement and we are a Google partner. This is a super common issue with companies that are spending a lower budget.

$500 a month. You’ve got two campaigns, which means you’ve got a budget of $250 per campaign. And when you divide that out by 30.4 days, you come up with $8.22 per day per campaign. And there are two problems with that.

Number one, if you are in a somewhat competitive industry, your clicks, your average CPC might be above $8.22. 10, 12, $15. The system is choked. If you’ve only got an $8.22 budget, but your clicks cost 12, the system gets confused and you have a very low search impression.

Share. Your second problem is, let’s say one of your campaigns has more search volume out there. It could spend 300 or 350 or $400 a day. And your second campaign, maybe that’s lower search volume. It may only spend $100 a day

So you’re leaving $150 difference, 250 minus 100. You’re leaving that on the table. I’m going to go through the perfect strategy. Whether you’re running max clicks or max conversions or ROAS strategies, I’m going to show you exactly how to share budgets so you’re maximizing every single dollar.

Let’s get started. The first example I’m going to go through is if you are sharing budgets between two campaigns that are running the max clicks bid strategy. And this is how you do it. You go over here to the tools on the left and then under budgets and bidding shared budgets, you title the name of this, this budget and you can do it two ways.

You can either choose the two campaigns and it is simply going to take the daily average of each. So this would be $15 a day if I chose these two campaigns and that would be the daily average budget. Or you could set a daily budget here. Let’s say you want to spend 20 per day, you click save and then down here you have to click it again and then assign the budgets to specific campaigns right here.

There. You’re going to share a $20 a day budget between two campaigns and that’s going to maximize your traffic in both of these campaigns. This next example that I’m going to show you is if you were running a maximized conversions or a maximized conversion value bid strategy, it’s a little bit different

If you are wanting to share budget between two different campaigns that are running, either maximize conversions or a maximized conversion value bid strategy, it won’t work in this particular section. Tools shared budgets and if you were to add those two campaigns, the system just simply won’t work.

So the way to work around that is you create a portfolio bid strategy between two different campaigns. So we’ve got max conversions and we’ve got a couple of campaigns in Florida. Assign it to the correct account and then you go down here you can set even a target CPA dollar amount, you can put the budget you want to spend and then right here you select the campaigns that you want to share the budget with and then simply click save.

So that’s how you do it when you’re running a ROAS or a max conversions value with a target CPA or without a target CPA bid strategy. I hope this helped you maximize your $500 per month. This is a super common problem that we run into, but this is the way to make sure that every Google Ads dollar is being spent correctly.
