Today, I’m going to help you uncover the search terms in your Performance Max campaigns, even if you don’t have the functionality yet within your Google Ads account. I’m Todd Nevins. I am the founder of ClickPlacement, and we are a Google Partner agency. And the biggest problem up to this point with Performance Max campaigns and when you have conversions come through there, is that we have not been able to figure out what search terms have actually generated those conversions until now.

Google is rolling out the functionality within PMAX campaigns to where you can. You have access to the search terms on the left nav, but it’s not in all of the accounts yet. I’m going to show you right now if you have that functionality, and if you don’t, I’ve got a hack on how I can help you find out your search terms for your Performance Max campaigns right now.

You log into your account and on the the campaigns on the left nav and then open up your insights and reports and you’ll simply see search Terms. Make sure you are in a Performance Max campaign and Search terms is populated over here in this area and you will see your search terms here.
Here is a view of a campaign and an account that does not have it enabled yet. So I’m in a Performance Max campaign but Search Terms does not appear under the Insights and Reports. Here is how you find it. But you need your account to be tied to an mcc a Google my client center, type of an account.

If you don’t have one, I have one DM me and I can help you find these search terms through my mcc. But once you get to the MCC I am at the MCC level which means I am looking at all of my campaigns here and I and I do have the functionality here in the Insights and reports and I can click Search Terms.
Well here’s where you find it. For a particular account and a campaign you have to put in the filter of account name contains and the name of the company campaign type Performance Max and campaign name contains and then hopefully you’ve got your campaign titles titled even pmax so you can search for it that way.

And here are the search terms for this account. Performance Max and the type of campaign is a PMAX campaign and this account does not does not have it enabled in their account level but I can see it through mcc.
That is the workaround right now. Hopefully this is a short term workaround as Google is rolling out this functionality to all advertisers. If you need help, you need to tie into my MCC and I can get you a search terms report. Please leave me a comment.
Please DM me and if this video helped you, please leave me a like thank you.
